Duplicity
Director: Tony Gilroy
Writer: Tony Gilroy
2009
Duplicity is highly entertaining, clever, funny, with intricate plot twists – all in all it’s extremely delightful. Unlike a lot of films, Duplicity’s smart way of editing the story out of chronological order works to keep you guessing until the very end, because we all hate movies that have their endings predicted in the first half hour. I can’t say much about Duplicity because it might ruin all the lovely surprises, though I will tell you the simplest thing you have to know about the plot – Clive Owen and Julia Roberts are rival spies working for rival business corporations, and of course their lives and work constantly intertwine. Duplicity is a really great film to watch and well worth your time and money ten times over.
