[Rec 2]
Director: Juame Balagueró & Paco Plaza
Writer: Juame Balagueró, Manu Díez & Paco Plaza
2009
This film was intense! To the point where you feel like you need something to calm down because you are on the edge of your seat the entire time. [Rec 2] takes place just minutes after the first film left off with a SWAT team going into the quarantined building to investigate the outbreak. Building on the story of the first film, this one takes the idea of possession and demonism to a whole new level – a frightening level. The infected people are faster, scarier and noisier but the good thing about them (yes I said there is a good thing to them) is when they attack, everything is ten times more chaotic than the first film so you don’t get a long enough look at them. Thank goodness for that because the noise they make is frightening enough, and I would advise the volume to be relatively low otherwise you’ll have to cover your ears as I had to in the theatre (movie theatres are notorious for cranking up the volume on everything). [Rec 2] is gory, intense, chaotic, scary and 85 minutes. Kudos to you if you can last that long.
